Market For Nelson Cruz Could Take Shape

Dec 6, 2014 12:36 AM

Now that Yasmany Tomas has signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the market for Nelson Cruz could begin to take shape very soon.

Cruz now sits atop a thin list of free-agent power hitters with Tomas, Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez off the market.

Cruz led the Major Leagues with 40 home runs after signing a one-year, $8 million deal with the Baltimore Orioles prior to the 2014 season.

Moss Aware Oakland's Additions May Affect Him

Nov 30, 2014 6:09 PM

Brandon Moss is working his way back from hip surgery and has kept close tabs on what the Oakland Athletics have done so far this offseason.

The Athletics acquired Ike Davis in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates this week, giving them a surplus of first at first base.

"The whole world noticed," Moss said. "You never know; the front office likes to mix up. I'm trying not to let anything surprise me, because I don't want to be blindsided. Obviously, I love playing in Oakland, but when this happened, I knew it could mean someone else gets moved."
